Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Projevity Pty Ltd (ACN 696 573 154) ("Projevity", "we", "our" or "us") collects, uses, stores and protects information in connection with the Continuity mobile application ("Continuity" or the "App").

Continuity is a daily detective puzzle game operated by Projevity Pty Ltd in Australia.

By using Continuity, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we collect

We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary to operate, secure and improve Continuity.

Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

Account information

If you create an account, we may collect:

• an account identifier issued through Sign in with Apple
• your email address, which may be a private relay address provided by Apple
• account creation and authentication information

We do not receive or store your Apple ID password.

Gameplay information

We may collect gameplay information necessary to provide features such as progression, the weekly casebook and community statistics, including:

• nightly results such as score, stars, moves, time, hints and wrong accusations
• your hunches and leader bets, which are virtual points only
• which suspect you accused first on each night
• badges, streaks, rank and lifetime statistics
• casebook clues and weekly progress
• relevant timestamps

Guest users have gameplay information stored locally on their device.

Device and technical information

Depending on the services implemented in the App, we may collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version and diagnostic or crash information.

We do not intentionally collect precise location data, contacts, photos, health information or microphone or camera recordings.

2. How we use information

We may use information to:

• provide Continuity and its gameplay features
• save account-based progress and sync it between devices
• operate the nightly and weekly cases and the casebook
• calculate progression, badges and statistics
• show aggregated community statistics
• authenticate accounts and delete accounts on request
• communicate important account or service information
• detect abuse, fraud or manipulation
• protect the security of the App and diagnose technical problems
• comply with legal obligations

3. Advertising

Continuity does not display advertising. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

4. Community statistics

After you finish a night we may show aggregated statistics, such as the share of players who first accused each suspect. Other players never see your email address or your individual choices.

5. Third-party services

Continuity uses third-party service providers for functions such as:

• authentication (Sign in with Apple)
• database, authentication and cloud functions (Supabase)
• hosting of our website and legal pages (GitHub Pages)

These providers may process information on our behalf. We require service providers handling personal information to use appropriate safeguards and only process information for legitimate purposes. Where third parties independently determine how information is processed, their own privacy policies may also apply.

6. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

Security measures may include encrypted connections, secure authentication, access controls, database security controls, server-side validation and appropriate cloud security measures.

However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymise associated personal information within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations, legitimate security requirements, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and technical backup retention. Where information must be retained, we will limit it to what is necessary.

8. Account deletion

You may delete your Continuity account through the App:

SETTINGS → DELETE ACCOUNT

When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymise associated personal information and account data, subject to lawful retention requirements. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the Sign in with Apple authorisation for the App, as Apple requires.

9. Guest users

Continuity can be used without creating an account.

Guest gameplay information is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall Continuity or clear its application data, locally stored guest progress may be lost. Creating an account lets you keep your progress and use it on another device.

10. Children's privacy

Continuity is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Where your country sets a higher age of digital consent, that age applies.

11. International users

Continuity may be available internationally. Depending on the infrastructure and service providers used, information may be processed or stored in countries outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are applied to personal information handled by our service providers.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to:

• access your information
• request correction
• request deletion
• request information about how your data is handled
• object to or restrict certain processing
• request data portability where applicable
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You can copy your data at any time in the App: SETTINGS → COPY MY DATA. These rights are subject to applicable legal requirements and exceptions.

13. Australian privacy law

Projevity Pty Ltd is an Australian company and seeks to comply with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles to the extent applicable to Projevity and Continuity. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. European and other privacy rights

Where applicable, users in jurisdictions such as the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or other jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws may have additional privacy rights, including the right to complain to their data protection authority. Where required, Projevity will provide mechanisms to exercise those rights. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (security and improving the game) and your consent where we ask for it.

15. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information for money.

Information may be disclosed to service providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, authentication providers, professional advisers, regulators or law enforcement where required by law, and other parties where necessary to protect our legal rights or the security of the App, or in connection with a sale of the business.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we may provide appropriate notice through the App or other reasonable means.
